English: Burdett Coutts Fountain, Victoria Park, London E9. Baronness Angela Burdett Coutts (1814-1906) was an heiress of the Coutts banking family and a philanthropist. She donated this drinking fountain to provide fresh clean drinking water to help combat cholera and alcoholism caused by the polluted supplies generally available, particularly in the East End of London. The fountain was designed by Henry Darbishire (1825-1899).
