These are superb, light maroon-colored crystals of this exceptionally rare pyrosmalite species. The size, to almost an inch, is incredible! These are the largest crystals BY FAR that i have seen for sale on the market - almost to an inch! It is a worldbeater for the species of competition aesthetics and quality, hands down, that might even be so good for what it is as to boggle a judge if it wasn't identified on the label. The luster is excellent, the color uniform and rich (and somewhat translucent), and the surfaces have a very attractive and sharp stepped-growth. Thus, this is a truly great thumbnail for both species AND locality. The related material from Sweden is ferropyrosmalite, and this is the world's best locality for the manganese rich variety as you see here. 2.1 x 1.6 x 1.1 cm
