Summary
| Description |
California is a state of many contrasts. It's not unusual that both the hottest and coolest summer temperatures for a summer, in continental USA can be in California. I once heard the hottest place was Needles, CA. while the coolest place was Eureka. When it gets hot over the inland valleys of California air rises. This sets up a convection low pressure that brings cool air to the coast from the ocean. Ocean air crosses the cool current from Alaska bringing clouds and fog. I learned that in a college geography class. |
