Summary
DescriptionTrent and Mersey Canal, Middlewich, Cheshire - geograph.org.uk - 546253.jpg
English: Trent and Mersey Canal, Middlewich, Cheshire. This site can become very congested in the summer "boating season". Beyond the bridge is the junction (and a very sharp turn) into the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal leads straight up into a lock. The narrow boat "Rufford" is waiting to enter Kings Lock just behind the camera. Here, benches belonging to the Kings Lock Pub provide comfort for an audience (but notices discourage anyone from using them without buying food and drink from the pub). Through the bridge (No 167) and just out of sight is the next bridge and three locks close together.
