Annavaram is a temple town in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, famous for the Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Vari temple located on a hillock. The town itself is on the banks of the Pampa River.

By car[edit]

By train[edit]

Annavaram is served by the A.V.M Railway Station. The town is 3 km away. The Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam line of the Southern Railway, part of the line that runs between Chennai and Howrah stops at the city.

By bus[edit]

A.P.S.R.T.C Buses run every 30 mins from Annavaram to Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam. There are many private buses from Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Kakinada.

Get around[edit]

Environment friendly horse carts (locally called Tonga) can be used to go around the town. Autorickshaws and taxis are also available along with city buses and buses run by temple management.

- The Sree Veera Venkata Satyanaryana Swamy temple, on the Ratnagiri hill. On the northern side of the temple's compound, there's a sundial, on Indian Standard time.

- There are shrines of Vana Durga and Kanaka Durga nearby. Goddess Vanadurga is held in great veneration.

- The temple of Grama Devatha (Village deity) is in the village, at the foot of the hill.

- Park on the banks of holy river Pampa.

Souvenirs of the Lord and his consort can be bought, along with the temple publications in the premises of the temple.

Eat[edit]

Since it is a temple town, only vegetarian food is available and allowed. The prasadam of this temple is very famous and delicious. The temple manages a free kitchen (annadana satram) in its vicinity, which provides free but delicious food to the pilgrims.

Consuming alcohol is absolutely forbidded in this temple.

Sleep[edit]

Devastanam administration has taken all measures for the pilgrim's comfortable stay on the Ratnagiri. Visitors are offered different kinds of accommodation ranging from Normal rooms to A.C Suites in various choultries and guest houses on the hill. For the convenience of the casual short-term visitors, devastanam provides lockers to keep their luggage..
