Get in[edit]

There are many options for getting to Imabari. The JR Yosan Line connects Imabari to Matsuyama and Uwajima in the southwest and Takamatsu to the east. From Okayama, it can be reached in less than 2.5 hours on the Shiokaze Express.

It's also connected to Onomichi on Honshu via the Shimanami Kaido expressway, accessible to cars and bicycles.

There are also buses from Hiroshima and Fukuyama. You can take a bus from Onomichi however, there are no direct buses, so you must transfer.

If that's not enough, you can also arrive by ferry. There are ferries from Takehara. There are also many ferries connecting Imabari to the islands along the Shimanami Kaido.
