Mackworth Island is a 100-acre (40-hectare) bird sanctuary near Portland, Maine, USA. It is also home to the Baxter School for the Deaf.

Admission to the island is free but hours are limited to daylight. Stop at the booth and tell the gatekeeper you want to use the walking trail, then take the first right to park.
