Moltrasio as seen from Lake Como.

Located on the shores of Lake Como in Italy, the village of Montrasio was a favourite summer destination for such celebrities as Giovanni Versace and Winston Churchill. It is still a lovely destination, easy to reach and close to the major destinations in the area, but with a friendly village feel. It offers beautiful views over the lake.

Understand[edit]

Administratively, Montrasio is part of the province of Como, in the Lombardy region.

Get in[edit]

The village is less than 50 km from Milan, where you'll also find the nearest major Italian airport. The village is served by the SS340, which follows the western shores of Lake Como. The city of Como lies about 6 km south of Monstrasio along this road.

Monstrasio is very close to the border with Switzerland. The city of Lugano, which also has an airport, is only about half an hour from here, mostly via the A2.
