Kumano Hayatama Grand Shrine

Shingu (新宮市 Shingū-shi) is a city in Wakayama Prefecture.

It is the base point for visiting Kumano-Sanzan, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site (Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range[1]).

Get in[edit]

From Nagoya, the Nanki provides direct access to Shingu in about 3.5 hours. From Osaka, the Kuroshio departs from Shin-Osaka Station and reaches Shingu in about 4.5 hours. 1 hour 40 minutes by express from the JR Shirahama Station. About 1 hour 10 minutes to Nanki Shirahama Airport from Haneda Airport.
