The Southeast is a region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in the South of Brazil.

  • 1 Arroio Grande
  • 2 Chuí — at the border with Uruguay. It's right across the street from its sister town of Chuy
  • 3 Jaguarão — has a splendid collection of more than 800 buildings that preserve various architectural styles
  • 4 Pelotas — known as the National Capital of Sweets, it has many European-style buildings
  • 5 Rio Grande — the state's first settlement and first capital, today one of the most important maritime ports in Brazil
  • 6 São José do Norte — an old settlement bathed to the south by the Lagoa dos Patos estuary, to the west by Lagoa dos Patos and to the east by the Atlantic Ocean
  • 7 São Lourenço do Sul — one of the most beautiful cities on the Costa Doce, it has hotels, inns, cabins and campsites for vacationers who come from different parts of Brazil
