To guide status and OtBP?[edit]

We need an article to feature as OtBP in January 2019. I think something from New Zealand could fit in very well in the schedule, and looked through usable articles for ones that look like they cover the destination quite well already. Tiritiri Matangi Island is one such article, I believe most of what there's to say about the island is already in the article. I mean, it's a quite small island and a nature reserve with few services. Maybe the wildlife and the walks need to be more extensively described?

Pinging AlasdairW, Nurg and Lcmortensen for comments. --ϒpsilon (talk) 17:59, 14 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

I think that the article could usefully be expanded a bit. I would rather feature it a bit later - it would be an interesting contrast to feature it in March 2021 during the w:2021 America's Cup which will be happening elsewhere in the Hauraki Gulf. Have you considered Stewart Island, Niue or Chatham Islands? AlasdairW (talk) 22:46, 15 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Why not; the Chatham Islands seem to be quite well covered (looking at the distribution of POIs on the dynamic map).
I quickly looked through each of the 78 usable NZ articles, and other quite good articles (ie. possible OtBPs) included Blenheim (New Zealand), Napier and Paihia. --ϒpsilon (talk) 16:59, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Don't be fooled by the concentration of the POIs on the map of Stewart Island. Although it is a large island, there are only roads and people in the area where the markers are. There are tracks in the rest of the island, of which Rakiura Track is the most accessible. Chatham Islands is also a good possibility. I have invited comments on Talk:Stewart Island and Talk:Chatham Islands. I was in Napier last year, and the article is good; I am not sure how much it is OtBP, but I may have bee influenced by the 2000 cruise passengers that were in town that day.
