Name[edit]

As fun as it is to have such a wild title, my impression is that Den Bosch is the more common name for this city. 's-Hertogenbosch gets 425,000 hits in an english-only Google search and Den Bosch gets over one million; In a search with no language restrictions, 's-Hertogenbosch gets about 2,140,000, while Den Bosch gets 2,800,000. Accordingly, we should move this article to Den Bosch, per our Project:Article naming conventions. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 03:34, 2 August 2007 (EDT)

I agree on this, as also in The Netherlands 's-Hertogenbosch is the official name, but better known as Den Bosch. —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) Longdrive (talkcontribs)
I don't think the situation can be compared to The Hague/'s-Gravenhage. As opposed to The Hague, all maps, guides, train schedules and traffic signs use the name 's-Hertogenbosch and it is the only official name. (Den Bosch is mostly used in daily speech by the locals, which I consider less important for travelers). --(WT-en) globe-trotter 15:21, 25 February 2010 (EST)
I'd like to pull this up once more, I think 's-Hertogenbosch should be the official title, and Den Bosch the redirect, not the other way around. All signs say 's-Hertogenbosch and its probably the only name travelers will encounter. --(WT-en) globe-trotter 18:21, 24 July 2011 (EDT)
I don't know about Wikivoyage policies but I agree that it is strange to have the short reference name for this city as the main title. I made a redirect today for 's Hertogenbosch but I too think it should be the other way around, also because it makes much more sense for travellers. Looking at train or bus tables, they will always be looking for 's Hertogenbosch. —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) Justme (talkcontribs) .
