VfD discussion[edit]

Not a useful name. So many places have an Atlantic seaboard that disambiguation is not an option

  • Keep — ditto what I said above. If there is a naming conflict with other articles, then it can be disambiguated. Or if you have a better name in mind, we can use that. But otherwise this seems a perfectly valid region article and subdivision of Cape Peninsula. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 02:31, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
So, is this one just going to have links to countries in South America, North America, Africa, and Europe that touch the Atlantic Ocean? (WT-en) ChubbyWimbus 02:37, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
There's no need to disambiguate yet, as there is only one article. And no, that would be a pointless disambig—it would only need to disambiguate region articles that actually bear that name. Mid-Atlantic is a similar case. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 02:57, 20 October 2009 (EDT)

Title[edit]

Is this the best name for this region? w:Atlantic Seaboard redirects to the East Coast of the United States, with no hatnote mentioning a region of South Africa.

Minimally, we should have Atlantic Seaboard (disambiguation), since this is a common name for the U.S. East Coast. Powers (talk) 18:25, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

the term is used at w:Cape Town#Suburbs but a disambiguation would probably be useful. --Traveler100 (talk) 19:14, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I know the term "Eastern Seaboard". How common is the term "Atlantic Seaboard", though? Hobbitschuster (talk) 20:31, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't recall having heard it. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:22, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like it was much more popular until the 60s, when it dipped below "Eastern Seaboard". I limited this search to books in American English as a crude substitute for geographical context. Powers (talk) 15:38, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
