Translation[edit]

We would need to find how we translate "Bas-Saint-Laurent" (the region next to Gaspé peninsula). The page currently translates it by "Lower Coast". In my opinion Lower St. Lawrence is a far better translation, I never heard Bas-Saint-Laurent referred as a "Coast" and I grew up there. The official tourist website doesn't translate the name [1] and use "Bas-Saint-Laurent" in English (but this is to be expected I guess from any regions in Quebec), I think using Bas-Saint-Laurent as the name of the page on English Wikivoyage, as it is now, is the good way, but I think the translation offered should be "Lower St. Lawrence" and never "Lower Coast". Termium, the website from the Translation Bureau of Canadian Government also translates "Bas-Saint-Laurent" by "Lower St. Lawrence" [2]. I wouldn't oppose to use "Lower St. Lawrence" as the name of the page either, this is English Wikivoyage after all, not French. Unless sources for "Lower Coast" are brought up, I will edit the page. Amqui - Wikivoyage:Plunge forward applies in this case. If you think "Lower St. Lawrence" is a better translation than "Lower Coast", go ahead and change it. If anyone objects, then we can have a debate; unless and until that happens, though, it's a non-issue. -- AndreCarrotflower (talk) 16:06, 29 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
