This article in no way captures the essence of Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick, nor the really interesting parts for travelers. Let's put some more effort into it and maybe help get some more visitors to this part of Brooklyn, and show them a better time! --(WT-en) Looskuh 13:18, 28 July 2011 (EDT)

The articles says "burgeoning art gallery district", what district is this? There are only two or three art galleries left in Williamsburg, the rest have been priced out from gentrification. Williamsburg is now occupied by yuppies in luxury condos, not artists. I would hardly call the bars "off-beat", more like huge party spaces for large groups of suburban bros who drive in on the weekend to get wasted. Also should be mentioned the increased eurotrash tourist contingent with two douchebaggy hotels and more under construction. —The preceding comment was added by 96.250.79.18 (talk • contribs)

User:96.250.79.18: Oddly, for a remark that you posted before the end of the talk page, the exhortation to plunge forward that's right below it serves as a reply to you. Neighborhoods change, but the texts of Wikivoyage articles don't change unless someone edits them. So instead of only complaining that the article is no longer accurate, please edit it as you see fit. But I do have one question: Are there some art galleries or off-beat bars in Bushwick, or have those, too, already been forced out by rising rents or thronged by the hordes of fratboys and sorority girls, etc., who are all over the East Village and Williamsburg? Sorry that I don't know the proper place to keep the "plunge forward" link. Is the point of the page to detail the few interesting galleries and bars left or to accurately describe the overall character of Williamsburg as it is now, which the current article currently misrepresent? I could edit the page to reflect reality, but I'm afraid the editors would just revert it. This would include good and bad. For example, it could mention the amazing street art of the Bushwick Collective, but also tell the truth that North Williamsburg has become a party town for "fratboys and sorority girls". —The preceding comment was added by 96.250.79.18 (talk • contribs)

Normal procedure is to put the latest post lowest on the page on talk pages like this one (and also to sign posts on talk pages with 4 tildes - the ~ key - in a row). But my substantive reply is: Don't be afraid! Just post what you know to be true! The standard for Wikivoyage is Wikivoyage:Be fair. We normally don't post bad reviews of places we list, instead choosing not to list lousy hotels, restaurants and such, but things that are bad about a neighborhood do merit saying, because the watchword of Wikivoyage is the traveller comes first, and knowing about the bad as well as the good is helpful to prospective visitors.
