Talk:Guanajuato

I rolled back the promotional info on a book about Guanajuato. It sounds like a good book, but the middle of a Wikivoyage guide is not the right place to advertise it. --(WT-en) Evan 17:12, 31 October 2006 (EST)

FWIW, I ate street food almost every day for 2 months in Gto, and never got sick. On the other hand, I became very sick after eating at Truco Siete. I would never eat there again.

I just got back from GTO on August 24, 2008. I was there for 9 days and I ate at Truco 7 lots of times. I went to a local Spanish school and it was a favorite of the teachers. (WT-en) Jack 18:37, 05 September 2008 (CST)

Current banner
Proposed replacement

I don't think the current banner does justice to the city, and would like to replace it. Any thoughts or objections? –StellarD (talk) 03:01, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't been to Guanajuato, but the new banner is certainly more colorful, so I'd vote for it on that basis. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:57, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The replacement banner from 2014 is an improvement over the old one, but it's still basically a landscape that could be anywhere and doesn't capture the unique character of Guanajuato. If I ever get copious spare time and figure out how to create banners, I'll propose something better. Meantime, my ideas are that a picture of the Teatro Juarez would be a good choice, or perhaps mummies because Museo de Momias is one of the most unusual attractions the city offers. Just a couple thoughts... Mrkstvns (talk) 18:01, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Featured article?[edit]

We have no nominations for featured articles from Mexico. Would this article do? And would it be DoTM or OtBP? /Yvwv (talk) 19:16, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tourism office?[edit]

The article had a listing for a local tourism info office. That seems to be closedː link is dead, Google search shows no municipal tourism office, and Google maps shows that location occupied by an engineering office.

A local resource would be preferred, but since I can't find an official one, I replaced the local office with a state tourism office. If anyone knows of an authoritative (non-commercial) tourism info office, please replace the state listing. Mrkstvns (talk) 20:07, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
