Indian Subcontinent?[edit]

Should this article be expanded to encompass the entire British Raj in the Indian Subcontinent, so as to include Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh? (Probably not Nepal, as so much of that country would be a hill station, though that could be noted.) Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:41, 30 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Also, is Srinagar not a hill station? It's a big city, but it's also a respite from the summer heat. Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:42, 30 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
Srinagar should indeed be added. I agree that other subcontinental countries need to be covered though I'm not sure if it should be in one article or split into separate articles. There are hundreds of hill stations in India alone. Only the major or recommended ones will be mentioned here of course, but even then the article may become too long, especially if Nepal as you say and Bhutan are included. Having said that, places above 2,500m or 8,200 feet in the South Asian context tend to be too high to be "hill stations". Gizza (roam) 23:22, 30 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, it sounds like having separate articles for Pakistan, Sri Lanka and perhaps Bangladesh is the way to go. I doubt there are a really large number of hill stations in Bangladesh, though; I think it's really just the one region of the Chittagong Hills. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:37, 1 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
I have added Srinagar. Also I do suggest seperate articles for Hill Satations in Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. --Rangan Datta Wiki (talk) 15:09, 26 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

How much selectivity should there be?[edit]

If we tried to be exhaustive, how many entries would we have? If too many, could the article be subdivided by region? I'm wondering if the deletion of Auli because it is "not so popular as Mussoorie and Nainital" is controversial. What do you think? I tend to think any hill station that someone might enjoy visiting should be listed. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:21, 2 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I should have reread DaGizza's comment above: "There are hundreds of hill stations in India alone. Only the major or recommended ones will be mentioned here of course". But I still think just how selective we should be is worth discussion, keeping in mind that we could subdivide this article if appropriate. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:23, 2 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
