Sourcing[edit]

The first post on the Khachmas page is from information gathered by Xaçmaz (Khachmas) English Conversation Club. The travel information is up to date as of July 2007. —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) Rustinjohnson (talkcontribs)

This definitely looks as though it was copied verbatim from its source. This is ok provided that the source information is explicitly public domain or licensed under the Creative Commons. If not, it is unfortunately a copyright violation and needs to be removed. In the case that it is a copyright violation, however, it would be ok to use this as a research tool for mining information—but it definitely would not be permissible as a word-for-word copy. My apologies in advance if these are your own words. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 02:55, 18 July 2007 (EDT)

Peter, thanks for your interest. I have the same concerns on some of the information and should have the information sources in the near future. I have set up a meeting to speak with the President of the Khachmas English Conversation Club tomorrow. For the historical information, the material is common knowledge given from a local history teacher. Having several discussions with him on historical issues, I'm comfortable with the fact that the historical knowledge is his own. Thanks for your patience. —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) Rustinjohnson (talkcontribs)

Sounds good. Please keep in mind when discussing this with the President that the fundamental licensing requirement for all Wikivoyage content is that it may be reused by anyone for any purpose. Whether attribution is required is up to the author. If the Club gives its assent, I will be glad to help reformat this content to match our Project:Manual of style. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 14:32, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
