We can see beautiful sea and we can eat meat and delicious fish or sea food. Sasebo is the first place where hamburgers were introduced in Japan. There are many hamburgers shops.
Gunkanjima Tour Update 2014[edit]
Regarding my edit to the tour information, since the form editor has no change summary entry: all we really had previously was a phone number. I'm not sure if that tour is still in operation—I haven't called—but couldn't find information about it online. It sounded quite similar to the Gunkanjima Concierge tour though, except there is no tour package that doesn't stop on the island, and it leaves from a different pier: the package is 170 minutes, leaves twice daily, has you wear a boarding pass with the rules printed on it, etc. So perhaps it is an evolution of an old tour. Gunkanjima Concierge led a very professionally-run tour with enthusiastic guides, had English-speaking staff and an English audio headset for the tour, an excellent web site, and their brochure was given to me by the Tourist Information Center. I think it's safe to deem this the authoritative Gunkanjima tour at this point in time.

Actually, I did find the original tour company with that phone number online. Foreign language interpreter-guides are available, at a high rate because it's a live person. There is also a third tour company which stops at Iojima and Takashima in addition to Nagasaki Port. All three are listed on an official prefecture tourism committee page for Hashima. I'll think about how to re-structure our Gunkanjima entry to mention alternatives or favor one company less strongly, while striving for already-strained conciseness; suggestions welcome.

Manga cafe[edit]
I am not sure the manga café listed under Accommodation still exists. I could not find it when visiting recently, and there are some empty/under construction lots next to the Toyoko Inn. Lunik01 (talk) 13:22, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
