Links to the destination articles[edit]

Shouldn't the listings here link to listings in the district articles? Where those listings are missing they should be added, and possibly some information be added. Without such a link, I am little wiser by seeing a listing of "Southern battery No. 1". The coordinates help me find it, but why would I want to go there? What's in the vicinity? I have to check the position in the right district article, which really should be our job, not the reader's. –LPfi (talk) 12:13, 18 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • I would love to have done this tourism extensively and be able to fill the gaps. I did fill some, based on my own military/historical research, but it's too little, oh yes it is. But I agree, the listings should all be linked, whenever humanly possible. Ibaman (talk) 12:20, 18 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • In the case of St Petersburg, I would exercise some care and discretion because there are SO many individual monuments, etc. that are cited. I think if I were updating the St Petersburg article, I would include a summary entry for "Monuments and historical sites" (or something like that) in the main article, mention the UNESCO citation, and list some of the major locations (those without a trailing alpha character) with links to the appropriate district article, and I would go through the District articles to verify that at least the major cites are mentioned in a bullet point. It could also be that you want to add a subsection under "See" in the District articles for the monuments listed by UNESCO. Just some thoughts....good luck!
